ALLUREMENT is a charming interplay between a cockatoo and its mistress who is enticing the bird with a “tidbit” on her lip. They play their little game in the solarium, where their surroundings give testament to the elegance and grandeur of Parisian high society.

Auguste Toulmouche was a well known genre painter who painted exquisite interiors with beautiful Parisian women in the fashion of the day. He exhibited at the Paris Salon and the Legion of Honor where his works were held in the highest regard. He was highly skilled in the painting of silks, satins and velvets, as seen in the incredible texture and sheen of the fabric in our lovely lady’s gown.
